Rope Access

History
Talon Specialised Training Limited is a sister company of Talon NDT Limited and was formed to provide the oil and gas industry with a permanent centre based in Aberdeen offering full time structured training in rope access techniques with dedicated indoor facilities, equipment and training personnel. Most NDT technicians now require rope access qualifications to compliment their inspection activities and Talon Specialised Training Limited was conceived to provide this service in a professional and friendly environment.

Facilities
Our training facility is approximately 3500 square feet permanently rigged with a variety of challenging training set-ups, including two static platforms at height, this gives us a good versatile environment for training at all three levels of competence. Theory work and written assessments are carried out in a dedicated classroom with various visual aids. Lunch, tea, coffee and light refreshments are included in the course price. A locker room / changing facility is available for safe keeping of valuables and personal items.

All equipment is certified for use in industrial rope access & maintained to the highest standard.

Physical Fitness

Please be advised that all levels of Rope Access Training and Assessment involve dynamically demanding activities and require a reasonable level of physical fitness.

Medical
All candidates are required by IRATA to sign a self-certification medical form or will need to provide a medical certificate stating that you are fit for working at height. This can be obtained from your local GP or a UKOOA standard medical (this is a mandatory requirement if your intention is to work in the offshore industry).

IRATA Registration
Course costs at level I include registration with IRATA, provision of a Log Book and a Working at Height Manual. To become registered you must provide your National Insurance or Passport Number.  Your photograph will be taken digitally at the Training Centre.

Payment Terms
Payment must be made in full prior to assessment.  Failure to do so will result in paperwork not being submitted to IRATA. Cheques made payable to Talon NDT Limited, all major credit and debit cards or a company purchase order can be accepted.

Clothing & Footwear
We recommend that you wear loose fitting clothing and a good pair of stiff-soled boots. Coveralls can be provided by the company, if required.
